spartacus gods of the arena

We are back, ladies and gentlemen. Gave us a heaping dose of the things that have come to expect from this series stars: the first few minutes of 'avatars arena Spartacus': blood spurting, naked bodies, violence and profanity, and, just for grins, Batiatus using a public toilet.
Well, I'm a child, but I felt almost as if with this first episode again, and saw the 'Spartacus' is a particular need to get on our faces with the most egregious or provocative content. There can not be just sex, and there had to be lots and lots of sex from many different types, and there can not just be violence, there had to be beheaded, unusual, and extra help from the madness when it came to creative use of spurting blood.
All right, all right, we get it - this is a show about people who use each other for any number of purposes, and the results are not always pretty. The Forum did not get the point that the bodies are just meat a lot to be sold by the pound, is set two of the scenes in the butcher shops.
Do not get me wrong, I'm not complaining trends show up in your face, and after a year without 'Spartacus' I would have someone cut off his head myself if they do not show when I did this. I hope so, in six episodes this season prequel, showing both can be maintained, arrogant and sign it drilled in the characters in ways that made the 'Spartacus: Blood and Sand' much more than the sum of blood, scattered parts.
«Gods of the ring, 'this season prequel new, is only six episodes long, and it makes me wonder - in this relatively short period, can we come to care about the plight of Gannicus' as much as we did about the life of Spartacus, Crixus, Doctore or even in the Barcelona 'Spartacus: blood and sand? That remains to be seen.
But included the first episode of the season prequel a lot of ground very liquid and the establishment of several new conflicts with the efficiency of energy use, and it was interesting to see the characters in different places like that. How different things were five years ago! Let's take a quick look at then and now, for each of the main characters the show:
Batiatus (John Hannah): It's impressive to see Batiatus which is, somehow, completely innocent. It has been around, certainly, but so certain that all it takes to achieve success as an owner ludus is perseverance and the ability to cross the right palm with silver. How naive! At the end of the episode, his ambition collides with the reality of active and cold stark: The persons who occupy the upper reaches of society do not want Upstarts underneath to achieve success. Tullius ended, he wanted to Batiatus man to emulate, to urinate in the face. That's one thing I love about the show - and not attack through the urine, but the way that leaves the characters constantly in situations that can win. At the character and the level of the story, and things are about to get interesting: We know that Batiatus is going to fight and scratch and claw his way out of this hole, but we also know that such events are going to make it every bit as ruthless Tullius heart in the next few years. It is clear that something is fine among friends and fellow real Batiatus Solonius ludus owner, no doubt in other relationships will suffer as well.
Lucretia (Lucy Lawless): It's also impressive to see Batiatus Lucretia and deeply in love. Within a few years, time, and they'll still love each other, but as we saw in 'Blood and Sand,' it will be both to be much more scarred and cynical. There may be as well have been in a "state of alert ridiculous" Sign and flashing Lucretia when he talked about not wanting to bed dirty Gladiator product. As seen in 'Blood and Sand,' but she did not sleep with Crixus but had deep feelings for him - feelings that they can not fully recognize. In any case, once we saw Lucretia, because such a wife, a supportive and loving, and we had no idea that things must be at least partially wrong between them. These young marrieds about to find out what it will cost them only to rise in society Capuan.
Oenomaus (Peter Mensah): Fans of 'Blood and Sand' They may say to themselves, "Hey, why do not you call his name Doctore correct what's going on here?" In this season prequel, which is set five years ago, 'Blood and Sand,' Oenomaus uses the name of the slave who was carrying before taking teaching in ludus Batiatus. Given that the content is relatively Oenomaus as the 'arena gods' starts, my guess is that the character will suffer more this season. He received his wife, and even if they were all slaves, and you both they had been treated relatively well and they get to spend some time together. Oenomaus even smiling now and then! Clearly on the verge of things that go wrong in his life too. It is interesting to note, however, that despite different circumstances, Oenomaus / Doctore are essentially the same man had been before - the ethical and honest, strong and reliable. I love this character and relish the idea that we'll get to explore more of his life completely. Also, I must add that there is no doubt in my mind that the wife of Oenomaus' will come to the end of the brutality of this season. Not so on the basis of inside knowledge, this is just a guess. How long have people in this world than ever to keep getting what they want? If, for they usually have to pay the price too high.
Crixus, Assyria and Barcelona: We see Crixus burly wrestler when he arrived the first time in ludus Batiatus, when hair was long and he was still ridiculed it for being a "Little" man. Assyria from among the trainees who survived the home system, training and brutal, but did not get the brand of the Muslim Brotherhood. It should be interesting to see how I got infection Ashour, who ended his career in the arena. As for Barcelona, he seems to be the same man is difficult, and this for good, not everything in life changed all that much in a period of five years.
As far as new characters appear, Gaya is ringing alarm bells in a few for me, although it is still too early if they will end up adding a good or bad for the cast. If Gaia (who is played by Jaime Murray) end up being a vixen standards problem, there is a cause of trouble soap opera-style between the couple lead, which may be problematic; so far as it appears like a kind of predictable, too. It is too early, though, and we are waiting to see what is her game, and if the feelings and it seems to Lucretia real or just part of some secret agenda.
Vettius and Tullius are, so far, villains relatively one-dimensional, but we played good characters (although sneering Vettius' can be obtained on the old completely if he does not moderate it a bit). In any case, 'the gods arena' is really the story of how Lucretia and Batiatus lost her innocence, so to speak, and John Hannah and Lawless Lucy is just fine in earlier versions of the toys themselves, it does not really matter that was not highlighted fully from the show characters out of (no pun intended).
Of course, this season is also the story of Gannicus, I think it was wise of the book fair to make it to the opposite of Spartacus, who arrived in the past Batiatus' five ludus at a later time. This man of few words with the fire burned internal and came quietly with a cunning plan to increasingly revenge, and was on the contrary unshowy Gannicus, a bad boy, heedless of never thought about the consequences of his actions.
We will find that the nurses Gannicus some pain secret that makes him resort to alcohol, women, and amazing feats in the arena? Maybe. This may be the way to go with interesting season prequel, but the truth is that the character may end up being just a player in support of the epic and Lucretia Batiatus. This may be the wisest course for the privilege of 'Spartacus. I do not know about you, but I still have memory performance Andy Whitfield as Spartacus fresh in my mind, I do not know I was quite ready to invest in another emotionally epic Gladiator personal.
But to see Lucretia Batiatus and fight their way from street brawls to the sands of the arena Kabua new shiny? I'm definitely interested I am in this story. As I said, I do not know if the six episodes will be enough time to tell that story with depth and complexity, but in the previous season was a great shock and surprised me in good ways, so I'm giving 'Arena gods' in the benefit of the doubt. Given how vital the first episode of 'avatars arena' was, we came back to Capua is a good start.
