Manny Ramirez retired from baseball Friday rather than face suspension of 100 games for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs, according to two people briefed on the matter. Ramirez tested positive for performance enhancing drugs during training in the spring, and recently reported a positive result, according to the person.
